Boistö Island

is an excellent place for meetings and private events. The island and surrounding nature offer a gorgeous and inspiring setting for meetings with both co-workers and interest groups. The sea exemplifies freedom and limitless possibilities and it can give flight to creative thinking and innovations.

The island used to have a pilot station and the old observation and control tower still stands in the middle of the island as a reminder of wars past. The oldest building on the island, the Pilot House, was built at the end of the 19th century. All buildings on the island have been renovated in an environmentally friendly manner, while respecting the traditions of the archipelago.

When you arrive at Boistö, you will have the entire pilot island to yourself. You will sleep in comfortable guestrooms with a maritime theme. The island offers three cozy workspaces, modern AV technology and a wireless Internet connection.

Boistö island has two wood-heated saunas: an old log sauna by the sea and one at the Coastguard House, both with fireplaces, patios and a view over the sea. Your host will cook you a delicious archipelago dinner made with local high-quality ingredients.

On the day of your choosing, a professional guide will take you fishing for pike, perch, zander and trout in the nearby areas. If you’re lucky, during the summer months you might even catch some salmon. Depending on your schedule, you can choose either the 3 to 4-hour or 4 to 7-hour trip. We support ecological fishing.

If you wish, more activities can be arranged during your stay on the island, but we recommend you use your time at the pilot station island to enjoy a break from your everyday life and let the island, as well as its surrounding areas work their magic and spur your mind to new creative heights.

The island can be reached by seaplane, a fast RIB boat or traditionally by land transport and boat. Transportation is not included in the price. Events on Boistö Island can also be organized during the winter months. Contact us to request an offer.

MUONIO RIVER – FINLAND

Fishing for salmon and
grayling on the Muonio River

Location: MUONIONJOKI
Season: May-September
Duration: 2 days
Participants: min. 4 persons
Equipment: all the necessary equipment, warm clothing and shoes
Accommodation: wilderness hut with sauna, etc. Shared rooms.

MUONIONJOKI

When we were children, grabbing a fishing pole or spinning rod and heading out to the nearest lake or river was the easiest thing in the world. For some of us it became a lifelong hobby, while others sigh with a touch of jealousy as they are shown pictures of smiling men and women holding impressive catches. Those smiling people will never have to tell another tall fishing tale as long as they live.

Fishing is extremely relaxing; when you’re by the water, it’s easy to allow your thoughts and ideas to drift and grow freely. Or just let your mind leave everyday stress behind. Spending hours fishing, waiting for that magical moment when the line goes taut and the rod bends, is simplicity itself. Rain or shine, it doesn’t matter, as long as you’re properly equipped.

A skilled professional guide will take your group fishing for the king of fish, the salmon, as well as other fish – grayling, trout and pike – that live in Muonio River. The river is a tributary of the Torne River, and it forms a part of the border between Sweden and Finland. The river starts at the confluence of Könkämäeno and Lätäseno, at the border of Enontekiö and Kiruna, close to the village of Markkina. It is 230 kilometers long. The salmon ascends the river from the Baltic Sea, happy to be swimming in its clean, fresh waters. Upriver, the water of Muonio is so clear and clean that you can drink it. With several years of experience in the area, we have carefully chosen the best and most scenic fishing locations on the river.

Your professional guide will arrange for transportation and choose the fishing locations. Accommodation will be in cabins with saunas, right on the banks of Muonio river. On fishing days, lunch is cooked out, by a fire, and dinner is served at the cabin. Our fishing guide is also a professional chef and will cook delicious meals and delicacies of Lapland, made mostly out of domestic ingredients.

During the days of fishing, your guide will reveal the best tricks and places to catch the king of fish. All necessary licenses will be arranged and your guide will provide you with all the equipment you need, from waders and shoes to boats. Remember to bring a camera and pack it somewhere dry and waterproof. Odds are no one will believe your stories without photographic evidence!

Flights to Kittilä are not included in the price. A charter flight can be arranged to make the trip more flexible. Prices are available here. We can also include commercial flights in our offer.

MUONIO

Days are short in the winter and there just isn’t that much light to enjoy. This state of affairs tends to turn a smile upside down. You look at people’s faces and all you see is the longing for summer, the time when all the fun stuff happens.

But winter can be beautiful and fun, too.

How about spending two incredible days combining business with pleasure, surrounded by a beautiful view over the fells? We offer a two-day snowmobile safari that starts at the airport, soon after you get off the plane.

During the safari, you will experience the magical landscape of Northwest Lapland and its fells. You’ll drive through snowy forests, over ice-covered lakes and rivers, and see the experience the Pallas-Ylläs National Park. If you want, you can stop along the way and go ice fishing on one of the lakes. If you’re lucky, the day’s catch will be your dinner.

Along the way, lunch is cooked and enjoyed over an open fire and when you arrive at the cabin in the evening, a hot sauna will be waiting. After the sauna, dinner is served. Accommodation is in shared rooms.

Out in the wilderness, far away from the lights and pollution of the cities, is the best place to watch the northern lights dance across the dark sky. Unfortunately we can’t guarantee that you’ll see them on your night at the cabin, but the preconditions are ideal.

After breakfast, it’s time to get back in your snowmobile gear and continue exploring the nature of Lapland. At the end of the safari, a plane will fly you back south.

ARCTIC OCEAN – NORWAY

The great Arctic Ocean

Location: ARCTIC OCEAN, NORWAY
Season: May-September
Duration: 3 days
Participants: min. 4 persons
Equipment: all equipment, clothing, licenses, etc. and a professional guide
Accommodation: cottage with sauna etc. Shared rooms.

ARCTIC OCEAN

The Arctic Ocean – so far away and so mysterious, yet so easy to reach and even tame. Head out early in the morning to catch cod, pollock, wolf fish as well as halibut and by midday you’ll have a nice catch racked up, as well as a wealth of fishing tales to regale your friends back home with.

In addition to a sizable catch and an unbelievable fishing experience, on a trip to the Arctic Ocean you may see red king crabs crawling on the bottom of the ocean and whales dancing on its waves. Even though the Gulf Stream brings enough warm air from the Atlantic to prevent the ocean from freezing over, each season does have an effect on the Arctic Ocean. And each season has its own surprises in store. In the summer the ocean may seem almost gentle and mild, but as fall and winter arrive, it shows its immense strength with huge waves and angry storms.

You will fish the Arctic Ocean with the help of an experienced guide, who will teach you about the necessary gear, the secrets of deep sea fishing and how to tire even the largest fish and reel them on deck for everyone to admire. Getting hooked on fishing the Arctic Ocean is as easy as ABC.

You will have the chance to go fishing on all three days. Lunch is served while out fishing and dinner at the cabin. Our fishing guide is also a professional chef and will cook delicious meals and delicacies of Lapland, made mostly out of domestic ingredients.

Flights are not included in the price. A charter flight can be arranged to make the trip more flexible. Prices are available here. We can also include scheduled flights to Kittilä or Norway in our offer.

MUONIO

Fall colors
in Keimiötunturi and Jerisjärvi

Location: MUONIO
Season: Autumn colors August-October + open water season
Duration: 2 days
Participants: min. 4 persons
Equipment: all the necessary paddling equipment. Bring your own outdoor and hiking clothing.
Accommodation: cottage with sauna etc. Shared rooms.

FALL COLORS IN FINLAND

are unique and Lapland is the best place to see and experience them. The trees and the ground turn into a magnificent symphony of browns, reds and yellows, with the blue sky and rolling hills providing a gorgeous counterpoint. The nature of Lapland, with its clean air, can have a magical impact on mind and body.

After your plane lands at Kittilä airport, we head to a resort village by Jerisjärvi Lake. After dropping your baggage off at the cabins where we’ll later spend the night, we’ll enjoy a light snack and prepare for the canoe trip.

Our guide will instruct you in the basics of canoeing and after a few practice runs, we’re off to visit some old, culturally significant fishing cabins and enjoy lunch by an open fire.

When we return from our picturesque canoe trip, a smoke sauna and a spa by the lake are already waiting. Dinner is served in an intimate Laplander’s hut by Lake Jerisjärvi.

After breakfast, we pack our backpacks and head out to conquer Keimiötunturi, the southernmost fell in the Pallas-Ounas range. It rises to a height of 610 meters. Reaching the top of the fell takes a couple of hours. After taking n the view, it’s time to refuel by cooking lunch and making coffee on a portable stove. As the memory cards of our cameras start to fill up, it’s time to start hiking back to the cabins.

After a fairly hard day of hiking, it’s time to say goodbye to the fells and their rich colors. The journey back south begins after a shower and a light snack.

This program is available as long as the ground is not frozen. Flights to Kittilä are not included in the price. A charter flight can be arranged to make the trip more flexible. Prices are available here. We can also include commercial flights in our offer.

LIEKSA – FINLAND

Wild beasts and the
beauty of Finnish nature

Location: LIEKSA
Season: all year long
Participants: 4-8
Accommodation: wildlife observation hut or wildlife lodge with rustic atmosphere
Equipment: Bring your own outdoor equipment and cameras

LIEKSA

This trip allows you to experience some of the most beautiful scenery Finland has to offer. The view from the top of Ukko-Koli is breathtaking. The fells of Koli are the remnants of an ancient range of mountains called the Karelides. They were formed by tectonic plates grinding against each other almost 2 billion years ago. Hiking in the photogenic Koli national park allows you to marvel at both natural and man-made landscapes. Slash-and-burn agriculture used to be one the most important economic activities in area in the 18th century.

Within an hour’s drive from Koli, you have a rare chance to see wolverines in the wild, which is something very few countries in the world can offer.

There are a little less than 150 wolverines in Finland, and the majority of them live in eastern and northern Finland. The number of wolverines has increased slightly over the past few years, partly thanks to organized feeding.

You’ll have the chance to observe and photograph the animals from the comfort of a log cabin with a beautiful view of the lake. Naturally, we can’t guarantee you’ll see wolverines or other beasts during the night, but the area is known for fairly regular visits by wolverine, bear, wolf, lynx, beaver, goshawk as well as golden and white-tailed eagle. Generally, wolverines are sighted in the area on an almost daily basis. Wolverines are active throughout the year, so whether or not you spot one is not dependent on the season.

Depending on the season, you’ll spend the night in the observation booth or in an old cabin on site. Animals can be very active when the nights are light in the summer, but as fall approaches the time for observing and photographing the animals is limited to the daylight hours.

And in case you didn’t get enough of an adrenaline kick observing the forest predators in their natural habitat, you can go rock climbing or river rafting the next day. Rafting is, of course, limited to the summer months, but you can climb down Vaskikallio, accompanied by a professional guide, any time of year.

This package can be customized to a great degree, both in terms of program and accommodation. Contact us and we can plan your perfect trip together!

A charter flight makes the trip more flexible; prices are available here. You can also reach Lieksa via commercial flights, train or by bus. Transportation is not included in the price. We are happy to create a package perfect for your needs.

LAKE SAIMAA – FINALND

Canoeing in the home
of Nestori Miikkulainen

Location: SAIMAA
Season: June - August
Duration: 3 days
Participants: min. 4 persons
Equipment: all the necessary paddling equipment. Bring your own outdoor clothing.
Accommodation: 1. night in tents at wilderness camp, 2. night in luxurious cottages

LAKE SAIMAA

On this canoe trip you’ll experience the fourth largest lake in Europe, Lake Saimaa. Our journey starts at Rantasalmi and we’ll spend two days canoeing in the picturesque Linnansaari National Park. On the first night we sleep in tents in a wilderness camp and dinner is prepared on an open fire by a professional chef, using pure Finnish ingredients.

Remember to pack a camera and make sure it’s stored in a watertight place. The extremely endangered Saimaa ringed seal lives in the area we’ll be paddling through. With luck, you may see a seal sunning on the rocks – and you may also hear the faint strains of a harmonica, played by the mythical Nestori Miikkulainen of a popular Finnish song called Vanhoja poikia viiksekkäitä.

The osprey is one of the largest birds of prey in Finland. The osprey population in Linnansaari is one of the largest in the country. The bird nests in the sturdy top branches of the pines close to the shore, and they can often be seen hunting over the lake.

On calm and beautiful summer days the surface of the lake is like a mirror, reflecting the white clouds and rocks and trees onshore. It’s an unbelievably beautiful sight and canoeing over surface of the mirror is almost surreal.

After two days of canoeing and a night spent in the wilderness, you have the chance to relax and enjoy yourselves at the Holiday Resort Järvisydän. Bathing in Sauna World, dining at Wine Hall and spending the night in quality villas will top off a perfect trip.

Flights to Varkaus and transportation are not included in the price. A charter flight makes the trip more flexible. Prices are available here. We can also include commercial flights in our offer.

KUHMO – FINLAND

Bear, bruin, teddy
and many others

Location: KUHMO
Season: April - October
Duration: 2 days
Participants: 4-8
Equipment: own outdoor equipment and cameras
Accommodation: wildlife observation hut or wildlife lodge with a rustic atmosphere

KUHMO

Very few of us have encountered the king of the forest and our national animal the bear while walking in the woods or out gathering mushrooms. The bear usually avoids crossing paths with us; it’s keen senses and ability to move without a sound, as well as hide help.

Bears come up in conversation regularly. They inspire both fear and respect, but also fondness. The king of the forest has many names in the Finnish language and we have a proverb that, loosely translated, says: a dear child has many names.

Today, photographing and observing wild animals offer a perfect chance to get closer to these beasts and, at the same, to get rid of our fear of bears.

You’ll have the chance to observe and photograph the beasts arriving at the scene in perfectly safe conditions from a photo booth. The booths are located near the border, which means that there’s no habitation close-by, thus allowing the bears in the area to live in relative peace without having to fear hunters.

Bears can be huge, but they are also frequently quite timid. One loud crack or sound from the observation booth will send a bear scurrying for the cover of the forest. The proximity of Finland’s border with Russia means that human habitations are few and far between. This means that the animal life in the area is rich and diverse, and you’ll have the opportunity to observe many other animals in addition to the bear: foxes, lynxes, wolverines, wolves and birds of prey. Naturally, there is no guarantee that any of them will put in an appearance.

The Kainuu region is known for its natural beauty and the lakes provide an excellent opportunity for canoe trips. Hiking in the untouched wilderness with a camera ready or following animal tracks can be quite relaxing after an intense night with beasts.

A charter flight makes the trip more flexible and allows for direct flights to Kuhmo. Prices are available here. We can also include commercial flights to Kajaani and transportation from there in our offer.
